Emily Floyd is an actor, a singer, a writer, a creator, and a self-proclaimed nerd.
She was born in South Carolina, where she was raised on a healthy appetite of dance lessons, musical theatre, Super Nintendo, and fried food.
In 2004 Emily left South Carolina for New York City to study theater at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. While at Tisch, she studied with Playwrights Horizons Theater School and the Stonestreet School of Film and Television.
Emily was selected as student speaker for Tisch's 2008 commencement ceremony. That May, she addressed her fellow graduates from the stage at Madison Square Garden and received her B.F.A. in Theatre from NYU Tisch.
Since then she's been hard at work pursuing her creative career in New York City. She has collaborated in the creation of off-Broadway theatre companies, written and produced her own webseries, and now can be seen each summer performing as Maid Marian to audiences of 20,000 per weekend at the New York Renaissance Faire.
When she's not auditioning, rehearsing, or performing, she spends her time working with students at her alma mater, cosplaying and attending conventions, and rolling dice to determine her stats. Emily lives in Manhattan in an apartment equipped with video games in the living room and her family's Southern cookbook in the kitchen. In other words, although she's a city girl now, she's never too far from her roots.
